Merrill’s Reflects on a Strong 2026 MDM West as Part of Nelipak
The 2026 Medical Design & Manufacturing (MDM) West show was a standout moment for Merrill’s as we attended the event for the first time as an acquired company of Nelipak Healthcare Packaging. It was a great opportunity to connect with longtime partners, meet new customers, and celebrate the early chapters of our integration into a larger, global organization. Most of all, we had a terrific time together as a team, which reinforced the energy, collaboration, and shared purpose that define both Merrill’s and Nelipak.
Participating in MDM West allowed us to dive deeper into Nelipak’s culture, which is rooted in innovation, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to customer success. We learned more about Nelipak’s global operations, technical capabilities, and collaborative way of working, which are already translating into new ideas for better serving our customers. Even as we continue to take on some of Nelipak’s best practices internally, one thing remains unchanged: our hands‑on, customer‑first approach to packaging for medical device, biotech, and healthcare applications.
What Stays the Same for Customers
For our customers, the Merrill’s experience you’ve come to rely on will continue. Our sales team remains fully engaged, responsive, and focused on delivering the high‑quality service and on‑time delivery you expect. While certain backend functions, such as ordering workflows, invoicing, or technical documentation, will gradually align with Nelipak’s systems and standards, these changes are designed to streamline operations rather than disrupt our customers’ day‑to‑day experience. In fact, many of these updates will simply make it easier to do business with us, while maintaining the same level of technical expertise and project ownership that has defined Merrill’s for decades.
What’s New and Exciting
What’s new and exciting is the access customers now gain to the Nelipak network. As part of Nelipak, we can draw on a broad suite of rigid and flexible packaging solutions, global manufacturing capabilities, and shared technical resources spanning multiple regions. Whether you’re looking for advanced thermoformed trays, multi‑cavity packaging, or flexible barrier systems, our combined portfolio gives you more options to tailor solutions that meet your specific clinical, regulatory, and supply‑chain needs.
At MDM West, we began exploring how these expanded capabilities can translate into real value for our customers: faster prototyping, more design flexibility, stronger supply‑chain resilience, and greater support for global launches. We also welcomed conversations with existing partners who are interested in leveraging Nelipak’s broader infrastructure to scale their packaging strategies, while still benefiting from the responsive, personalized service that Merrill’s has always provided.
Stay Tuned
As we reflect on the 2026 show, we’re excited about what comes next. The MDM West experience reminded us that integration is not just about aligning systems and processes. It’s also about bringing teams together, learning from one another, and setting a shared vision for the future. Looking forward, we are exploring new ways to deliver value to our customers by combining Merrill’s deep domain expertise with Nelipak’s global reach and technical breadth.
